Bad Score? Good Bye!

Last week, I had a bad score when my lecture gives me a test. I had eight, it’ll be good if the best score is ten, but this time, it’s just eight from 100. It’s feels so bad. After that, our lecture gives us some tips to improve our English, including improve our vocabulary.

Once again, my lecture tells me that English is life. From that characteristic, the principal of learning English should be in line with the characteristic of English as a language. In order to improve our English, we need to learn continually because English also grown up time by time. Besides of that, we need  to have various methods or activities in learning English. Various activities means various times, various places, and various resources. The various resources can be coming from internet, the lecture, television, radio, or talking directly to native speakers.

We need to establish our system of learning, not only in English but also for the other subject. We have to be professionals, not amateur. If we want to achieve a brighter future, we must learn to professionals from now on because professionals can‘t grow by itself. If we are professionals, we have to have a laptop and storage. System means we should collect any kind of data and then put and arrange in our file system. It’s easy for us. Thus, we should have a plan to learn English.

There’s some tips to improve our English. First, when we’re reading a book, collect the word that we're not knows what the meaning is and then search the mean of that word. After that, we should write it down and make ti one file. If we only use electric, it’s partially. We must have experience on writing. Don’t forget to search for the application of sentence. When we have free time, take a look at it. We need to translate and to understand the text in English.

Second, we need to express our idea in hand writing. English can’t be express just with writing, reading, and listening. We also need to practice to talk. And we need a partner for doing that. So ask for help to our friends or family so that they would become our partner. Make a commitment to learn English. At least, learn the standard English.

Third, when we see the film, closed the subtitle and listen to the way of talking. Sometimes, open the subtitle and then closed again. If our parent have a money, ask for Indovision at home so we can see foreign channels, such as CNN or National Geographic.

Fourth, we should have a responsibility.  In learning English, we should have laptop and storage, such as flash disk or hard disk. We need also to do exercise from the internet. Make a search of  “vocabulary English test” or something similar to that.

Without English, it would like to cook sautéed kale but kale is not currently in pieces. And it can not be served. The importance of english for us maybe it is not for shorten times, but for ten or twenty years to come. Maybe we assume that English isn’t important for us right now. But we need it if we're going abroad or to make our thesis.  

The most important of things is we need to feel confidence. Confidence is the basic thing for all of the subject. We need that feel but we can’t be arrogant. So, the religious character are also important. Specifically, our target is to improve our score. We need a hard work. Besides of that, there’s something that’s more important than that. We need to integrate in our life, as best we can.

From the text, we can conclude some important things if we want to improve our English.

1.    We should build motivation in learning English.

2.    We should have some facilities, such as laptop, notebook, dictionary, storage, and so on.

3.    We should have a various resources, such as text book, internet, and so on.

4.    The last, we should have a facilitator, it can be our lecture, teacher, friends, or family.

Of that four things, at least hold the three.

This life includes two components, accountability and sustainability. We should improve our effort and make it continuously. In learning, remember that we can if we want.
